Meigs Community Center, 2006 E. Depot Street, Meigs, GA, 31765, United States.

It's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day. Make it a day on, not a day off. Come together to support literacy in our community. Dress up as your favorite book character, then come read a chapter or the book out loud to the many kids who attend.

Recommended for all ages. Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult volunteer.

Groups larger than 10 interested in volunteering should call the HOTC office at (229) 226-5200.

This is a no-frills service opportunity. Please bring anything you will need to be comfortable, wear appropriate attire and closed-toe shoes.

If you have a HOTC t-shirt from any year or any program, please wear it. 2019/20 HOTC t-shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis for volunteers who did not receive one at a previous volunteer event day (while supplies last).

Volunteers will receive a Live Better pedometer to track their physical activity while volunteering. Don't forget to log your steps to be entered into a drawing for a great prize!

Cancellation policy

Our non-profit partners are counting on you to volunteer! If you will not be able to make your volunteer shift, please contact our office at (229) 226-5200 as soon as possible so we may make arrangements for another volunteer to attend in your place. Thank you.
